BG (Green) Tucker ’11 has dedicated her career to dismantling barriers in higher education, currently serving as the executive director of College Possible Minnesota, where she creates equitable pathways in higher education for underserved students. After majoring in Latin American studies at Carleton, Tucker’s professional foundation was built on her experience as an English and Spanish educator and a Teach For America corps member. Her commitment to her alma mater remains steadfast through her role as a devoted Carleton ambassador, her supervision of externs, her work establishing a matched scholarship for the College’s Summer Liberal Arts Institute (SLAI), and her leadership of the D3 Carleton Ultimate Fund. Throughout her professional journey, Tucker has consistently transformed educational systems to be more equitable and accessible. Before her current leadership role, she founded the college access program at Venture Academy and served as the director of college counseling for KIPP Massachusetts, where she developed frameworks that significantly increased college completion rates for marginalized populations. Her strategic vision led to the creation of a custom college match algorithm to boost application success for BIPOC students and the “Connects Partnership Model” for first-generation, low-income student retention. Nationally recognized for her expertise, she chairs the Minnesota College Attainment Network and serves on the advisory task force for the National College Attainment Network. Beyond her professional life, she is a competitive athlete and perpetual team captain; whether leading a Carleton alumni frisbee team in her home city or qualifying for the Ironman World Championships, she brings a tenacity that mirrors her advocacy work. Tucker embodies Carleton’s values through her ethical leadership, interdisciplinary thinking, and a tireless pursuit of social impact that has transformed thousands of lives.
