Andy Wilson ’91 has demonstrated a consistent commitment to Carleton since he graduated 35 years ago, participating in revamping reunions, supporting the Alumni Annual Fund (AAF), serving on the Alumni Council, and helping found the Alumni Career Advisory Board. Studying history at Carleton, Andy was an “enthusiastic” student who connected with classmates from the start in his first-year seminar, Alice in Wonderland and Hamlet. Starting his professional career the day after graduation, Andy spent 35 years at Deloitte as a CPA and M&A partner, developing deep expertise in finance and management, skills he has generously leveraged to benefit his alma mater. Andy’s record of involvement with Carleton is broad and deep. He has served as a cornerstone of the AAF, holding roles as a class agent (2011–2016), assistant class agent (1998–2011 and 2017–present), and member of the AAF Board since 2021. A key volunteer for the Class of 1991, he chaired the leadership giving committee of his record-setting 25th reunion gift committee and served as chair of his 30th Reunion Gift Committee. Andy has been a member of the gift committee for every prior reunion since his 5th, consistently taking on the most challenging asks to support the College’s continued excellence. As the first chair of the Alumni Career Center Advisory Board in 2007, Andy served on the board until 2010, supporting the professional development of current students. Touching every part of the alumni volunteer experience, in the decade after graduation, Andy was an alumni admissions rep in two states, a regional alumni rep, and an alumni club chair for three years in Kansas City. Throughout his time as an alumni, Andy continues to be a vital mentor to fellow volunteers; during Carleton Alumni Volunteer Experience (CAVE) weekends, he leads sessions with pragmatic candor and a dry sense of humor, sharing best practices and personal insights to empower new volunteers. Whether attending local alumni events in Chicago or crafting a strategy to increase leadership giving, Andy remains a star ambassador who inspires peers and staff alike through his unwavering passion and love for Carleton and his fellow alumni.
