About the speakers
Kyle Burkhardt ’10 is the Senior Vice President of Strategy for the Dallas Mavericks and has held previous roles with Major League Soccer, New York City Football Club (NYCFC), the LA Clippers, the LA Kings, and the Minnesota Timberwolves & Lynx. He is also a Tony Award-Winning producer and co-founder of Burkhardt Jones Productions with his wife, Morgan Jones ’13. In addition to that, he is a lecturer in the Master of Science in Sports Management program at Columbia University. At Carleton, Burkhardt majored in economics, with a minor in political economy.
Eric Nyquist ’94 is NASCAR’s Chief Communications and Social Responsibility Officer. Since 2005 he has led the league development of the sport, holding a number of senior leadership roles at NASCAR, including managerial positions in strategic development, business affairs, entertainment marketing, technology, NASCAR Media Group, and partnership marketing. He previously served as Executive Vice President with the Chicago Bulls and Chicago White Sox franchises and as lead strategic analyst for Roger Goodell at the National Football League. Nyquist, who majored in economics at Carleton and received his law degree and MBA (finance) from the University of Chicago, started his career in graduate school working for the US Women’s National Soccer team.
