Carleton Connects: Preventing & responding to campus sexual misconduct

Carleton has recently strengthened its approaches to preventing and responding to sexual misconduct.  Join Title IX Coordinator Laura Riehle-Merrill and Sexual Violence Prevention Coordinator Nora Peterson for a discussion of the College’s updated efforts to ensure a safe and supportive campus environment.

About the Speakers

Laura Riehle-Merrill became the College’s first full-time Title IX Coordinator in 2017.  From 2005 until 2017, she directed student engagement in the College’s Center for Community and Civic Engagement, including service as a Sexual Misconduct Support Adviser and a Title IX Deputy.  Laura holds a B.A. in English with a minor in Women’s Studies from Gustavus Adolphus College and an MFA in creative writing from Colorado State University.

Nora Peterson is Carleton’s first full-time Sexual Violence Prevention Coordinator.  She came to Carleton in February 2019 from Montana State University, where she served as the Volunteer Coordinator and Direct Service Specialist. Nora received her master’s in gender studies from Central European University in 2017, with research centered on gender-based violence.
