About the Speaker
Environmental microbiologist Rika Anderson ’06 has taught at Carleton since 2016. In connection with her research on microbial evolution, she recently received NASA funding for a five-year project to improve how scientists recognize whether other planets in or beyond our solar system can support life. She is the co-author of 15 scientific articles and a researcher at the Virtual Planetary Laboratory at the University of Washington.
