Carleton Connects: Lysne and Lewis Muth on mental health and wellness

Join a discussion of mental and physical wellbeing at Carleton, the clinical services that are available for students, and the important work of prevention in promoting wellness and creating a healthier campus community. The services and programming available via Student Health and Counseling (SHAC) and the Office of Health Promotion (OHP) will be highlighted by the directors of both offices.

About the Speakers

Marit Lysne, PsyD, is the Director of Student Health and Counseling and a licensed clinical psychologist. For the past 19 years she has provided individual therapy, group therapy, and crisis services to Carleton students in the areas of anxiety, depression, eating disorders, alcohol and drug use, suicide and self-injurious behaviors, relationship challenges, and developmental issues.

Janet Lewis Muth is the inaugural Director of Health Promotion at Carleton College. In this role, she oversees multiple prevention grants and works with professional and student staff to address the priority areas of sleep, mental health, stress, and alcohol. Before launching the Office of Health Promotion in July of 2016, Janet spent 15 years addressing different variations of health promotion and health equity through community organizing, coalition building, and advocacy in the nonprofit sector.
