Carleton Connects: Ken Fisher '55 and the science of sleep

Wed, December 4, 2024 • 3:00pm - 4:00pm (1h)

Why do we spend one third of our lives almost completely defenseless and in ignorance of the world around us? Doctor Ken Fisher ’55, who has worked on sleep medicine for decades and has just published Sleep: A User’s Guide, will offer an introduction to what science has uncovered about this mysterious but fundamental part of our lives and what you can do to improve your sleep.

The webinar begins at 3:00 p.m. Central on Wednesday, December 4. Register online.

Kenneth (‘Ken’) Fisher ’55 was a Rhodes Scholar (Carleton’s eighth) and earned his MD at Washington University in St Louis, with further training at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and the University of California–San Francisco. He was on the faculties of the University of Washington and the University of Arizona and recently retired from UCLA as a Professor of Medicine. For many decades he maintained a private practice in Beverly Hills, and he served on the Attending Staff at the UCLA and Cedars-Sinai Medical Centers.

Our webinars are recorded. Visit the Carleton Connects archive to view more than a decade's worth of earlier shows.
