A Message from ITS, July 25, 2023

Hello Carleton Graduates!

Congratulations once again on graduating from Carleton!

This is a brief message from your friends in ITS. As you embark on your post-Carleton life, we want to be sure that you have taken care of any remaining details connected to your Carleton account. In particular, we want to be sure that you’ve transferred or archived your digital materials before your account becomes inactive on July 31st, 2023.

During your time at Carleton, you will have created documents, presentations, posters, and more that you may wish to hold on to. You may have been the owner of resources related to a club, organization, or committee on campus which you now need to transfer to someone else. You may have created accounts online using your Carleton email address that you will need to update to a new address. And, of course, there’s likely to be a whole lot of email that you may (or may not) want to archive for future reference.

Leaving Carleton – Your Digital Departure is your quick one-stop reference and reminder of the digital aspects of your Carleton career which you may want to archive or transfer. It also includes links to pages with more detailed instructions on how to do so.

The deadline for all this is next Monday, July 31st (I know, time flies). After that date, your Carleton account will transition to an Alumni account, and you will lose access to email, Google Drive, Dropbox, etc. And, more importantly, all files and media stored in Carleton supported hosting tools such as Google Drive, Imagen, Panopto, will be irrevocably deleted. Unfortunately, there’s really no extension beyond this date because we have to make licensing and other virtual space for the incoming class of 2027.

If you have any questions or concerns, or just need information or assistance, please contact the ITS Helpdesk!

We’ll be happy to talk with you.
