Carleton Class of 2001 25th Reunion: June 18–21, 2026

June2026

We’re So Excited!

By Jonas Cartano

In a few short days, we’ll be reunited with each other on campus. As we write, we’ll have the largest reunion class this year almost 200 classmates, well ahead of the other typically big groups, the 5th year and 50th year classes. We’ll be joined by an ample number of non-reunion-year and non-Carl guests and lots of kids—it’s going to be a blast! We’re hoping a few locals will register and attend at the last-minute and, whether it’s for a day or for one meal, you can register à la carte for the options that work for you.

And we are doing really well with our gift goals in terms of dollars raised and participation and there’s still time to achieve those goals before Carleton’s fiscal year closes at the end of June. You can join us at go.carleton.edu/sharethelove2001.

We didn’t want to do a big newsletter this time around, but we just wanted to pull together a few reminders for you.

For those of you who can’t attend, we really hope that you take the time in the next few days to reconnect with some of your closest classmates. Join the class Facebook page. Pick up the phone and call one another and catch up. Use the Alumni directory and write someone a letter! Whether we get together in-person at Reunion, online through technology, one-on-one, or any method you choose, reconnecting with each other is the best way to celebrate this 25 year milestone.

For those of you coming to Reunion, we’re so psyched to see you!

’01 Love. Let’s Get Together.

Reunion Practicalities

By Jonas Cartano & Linda (Vang) Kim

Rideshares and Kid Connections

As you saw on the registration process, chartered motorcoach shuttle service is available for $70 round trip per person ($35 one way per person) from the Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport. Pre-registration is required. You can still add a shuttle after registration by contacting Alumni Relations. Additional info on shuttles is available here. For those driving to Reunion, parking advice can also be found here.

Additionally, in order to facilitate connections at Reunion, we’ve created a Rideshare and Kid Connections board where we can work out possible connections with our classmates.

  • The Rideshare board is for folks who are able to give a ride to/from Northfield or need one.
  • The Kid Connections board is for parents who are bringing kids to plan, know a little bit about other kids that are coming, and connect with other parents/kids. Our hope is that this will be a way for parents to connect up ahead of time and ensure that the kids will also have a great time at Reunion.

Getting Ready for Reunion!

Your 25th Reunion Committee has officially reached the stage where we dream about reunion logistics. For over a year, we’ve been planning, emailing, scheduling, spreadsheeting, and enthusiastically discussing every possible aspect of Reunion Weekend. The short version: COME HOME TO CARLETON. We miss your face. College was exhausting, adulthood is weird, and this reunion is shaping up to be ridiculously fun.

That said, before you arrive ready to relive your glory days, a few gentle reminders about the authentic Carleton residential experience:

  • Remember communal bathrooms? They still exist! Your shower supplies will once again travel in a slightly-too-small caddy down a hallway while you attempt not to drop your underwear in public. If you normally sleep in “whatever,” please remember to pack pajamas, a robe, and absolutely flip-flops.
  • XL twin beds remain approximately the size of a yoga mat. Please sleep responsibly. Our 47-year-old backs are not what they were. Sharing the bed with partners, children, or rekindled romances is highly improbable by both physics and orthopedic science.
    • Carleton supplies a mattress pad, sheets of indeterminate thread count, a pillow-shaped object, a blanket, and towels. Consider bringing extra linens or mattress toppers (egg crates forever) if sleep is important to you.
  • We’ll be outside a lot, because this is Carleton and apparently, we enjoy nature. Minnesota weather in June will likely cycle through four seasons over the course of the weekend, so pack accordingly.
    • If you now live in an arid climate: mosquitoes are real, humidity is sneaky, and nighttime may not actually be chilly here. Fans will be at a premium and those who bring along a room fan will be popular.
  • Forget something? The bookstore has your back with sweatshirts, water bottles, toothbrushes, emergency Carleton merch purchases, and probably several things you suddenly decide you absolutely need. Plus: Reunion coupon (surprise!).
    • There is now a Target in Northfield, just before you hit Dundas, but know that many other Reunion attendees will probably be looking for the same things you are.
  • Planning quality time in the Arb? Bring work gloves for Friday’s service project, sneakers for the 5K Run/Walk, or binoculars for the Bird Walk, hosted by c/o 1986.
    • Also, if the Cannon River has been aggressively rivering lately, expect mud. This is not the moment for fashionable footwear or hiking in your Birks (unless you want to trash them immediately afterward).
  • We truly cannot wait to see you!!
