Return to Northfield for our biggest, best reunion yet

Can you believe it’s been 25 years?

Whether you’re a reunion regular or haven’t been to campus in this millennium, this is the year to reconnect with Carleton. Enjoy a fun-filled weekend in the company of smart, interesting, middle-aged people who are excited to see you.

Thursday, June 13

Registration for the 25th Reunion begins 3pm Bald Spot Time! Join us for a welcome reception on the Burton Patio and dinner at 6pm. Get a head start on the Class of 1999 Scavenger Hunt, happening all weekend. We’ll cap off the evening with a bonfire, lawn games, pizza (Basil’s!), and s’mores on the Hill of Three Oaks.

Friday, June 14

Activities on campus kick-off Friday after breakfast with a selection of tours, Alumni College programs, and the arboretum service project in the morning. After lunch (11:30am-1pm), join additional Alumni College programming, and fit in a quick visit your favorite department or office on campus before making sure to join us for…

1999 Meaning in a Number: Telling our Stories , a story slam, a celebration of creativity, a chance to laugh and learn. Join classmates who will share their perspectives and experiences or who have used their talents to produce works of art, all to reflect on the passage of time and what it means to be together after 25 years.

The afternoon offers more tours, a chance to join receptions with the Multicultural Alumni Network (MCAN) and Out After Carleton (OAC), as well as an All-Class Happy Hour with faculty and staff, and perhaps make your mark on Carleton history by contributing to the Oral History Program Group Interview (by advanced reservation; a second sessin is also offered on Saturday afternoon).

Cap off the afternoon’s festivities at a special reception, just for 1999, hosted by President Byerly on the Nutting House lawn at 5:15pm and then dinner in the Weitz Commons at 6:30pm.

After dinner, join us as ‘99 and ‘94 face-off for Late Night Trivia! Our event host will be Noah Tarnow ’97. In addition to being a past Jeopardy! contestant and a karaoke superstar, Noah is the creator, writer, and senior quizmaster of The Big Quiz Thing. Expect good natured competetion, a little bit of trash talk, and lots of laughter.

Saturday, June 15

Are you an early bird? All are welcome at the annual Bill Huyck ’53 Reunion 5k Arb Run/Walk. Check-in is at 7:30am and the run/walk starts at 8am.

Feel like sleeping in a little? The Parade of Classes and Reunion Convocation begins at 10am. It’s our turn to shine! Come celebrate with us as we present our 25th Reunion Class Gift to the college and honor our Alumni Award recipients.

Following lunch (11:45am-1pm) on Saturday afternoon, we’ll be gathering to remember classmates no longer with us and dedicating a memorial tree.

We also can’t wait for a special concert by Mason Jennings at 2pm. For many of us, Mason was part of the soundtrack that defined our years at Carleton, a familiar face who brings back fond memories of our years together. This promises to be a special event. Come spend time with a Minnesota legend as he plays…just for you.

Make sure not to miss our 25th Reunion Class Photo at 6pm on Saturday evening and then head straight to our last special Class of 1999 dinner. Need to burn off all those calories? We’ll end the night with dancing at the ’80s and ’90s Dance Party along with the classes of 1989 and 1994.

Seem like a lot to do? There will also be plenty of unstructured time for wandering campus, mingling, reminiscing, rekindling friendships, and making new ones.

Fast-forward the awkward small talk and start catching up with your classmates now. Read the 25th Reunion Biobook and add your entry.
