Our Class Gift

Fantastic Support for our 50th Reunion Gift

Thank you very much to everyone who contributed so generously to our 50th Reunion gift. We’re thrilled that, together, we increased our Class of 1968 Endowed Scholarship Fund by more than two million dollars, as well as making a substantial contribution to the Alumni Annual Fund. Adding in “legacy” gifts that will be paid in the future, we raised $16.3 million for Carleton! Fantastic!

Your legacy gifts also set a new record for any class in terms of membership in the Joseph Lee Heywood Society. Seventy-nine classmates have now included Carleton in their estate or retirement plans or made some other type of gift arrangement that will support Carleton in the future. Thank you!

And you came through in record numbers. Sixty-nine percent of our class made a gift this year — our highest giving rate ever. It’s very rewarding to see how our class stepped up to support Carleton in celebration of our milestone 50th reunion. Again, thanks to all of you who supported our Reunion Class Gift so generously.

Future Giving

Even though our 50th Reunion is over, your financial support of Carleton shouldn’t come to an end. If you’ve supported the Alumni Annual Fund in the past, please keep doing so; if you haven’t, now is as good a time as any to start. The Annual Fund is a vital and important part of the unrestricted support Carleton needs to continue operating the College.

And if you’d like to increase your support of our class Scholarship Fund, now or in the future, there are many ways to do so. You can make a cash donation, a gift of stock or mutual funds, or name Carleton in your estate plans. Make an online gift to the ’68 Scholarship Fund, select “Other” and write in ’68 Endowed Scholarship Fund. Make a gift of stock or mutual funds, name Carleton in your will or trust or as a beneficiary of a retirement account, and contact the development office to let the college know about your plans.
