The Trip
Join Carleton College Professor Emerita Nancy Wilkie on a splendid ten-night voyage aboard the elegant, 216-cabin Aegean Odyssey. Begin in Venice and end in Athens, exploring the fabled Dalmatian coast along the way. The Aegean Odyssey is small enough to call at ports that are inaccessible to the ‘mega-ships,’ but large enough to offer a selection of amenities, including two dining venues, a spacious theater for lectures and musical performances, several comfortable lounges and bars, a relaxing spa center, and a well-stocked library. Itinerary highlights include Diocletian’s massive palace in Split, Croatia; the beautiful, historic town of Dubrovnik; cruising through the dramatic scenery of Kotor Bay; the vast ancient ruins of Butrint, Albania; and ancient Olympia, Greece, birthplace of the Olympics. Then disembark in Athens and spend two nights at a centrally-located, 4-star hotel, with time to see the city’s magnificent classical treasures, including, of course, the Acropolis. This program includes all meals aboard ship, nearly all shore excursions, a series of onboard lectures, and much more.
