The Trip

This brand-new, custom-designed tour blends cultural excursions with active walking/hiking excursions in northeastern Spain and southern France. In the company of Carleton professors Dana and Stephen Strand plus expert local guides, explore off-the-beaten path destinations as well as classic highlights. Visit three UNESCO World Heritage sites: the medieval citadel of Carcassonne, a boat trip on the Canal du Midi, and Sagrada Familia in Barcelona; and take hikes in the Corbières Massif, around the town of Céret in the Pyrenees, between medieval villages on the Costa Brava, and just outside Barcelona on Montserrat. Enjoy a wine tasting in France, a culinary workshop and a visit to a famous cava producer in Spain, and stunning landscapes and architecture throughout.
