This was one of my favorite moments of our week, the afternoon of day four, between Bahia San Gabriel and Bahia de los Muertos, about 3:30 in the afternoon. Perry’s piloting, the skipper’s dropped the mains’ls, keeping up just the jenny and the fisherman. It is like magic now: the boat is silky smooth, and very fast at 7+ knots. Steady, humming, no rocking, like hydroplaning: we are simply ripping, flying south.
