The number one piece of advice that I got when I started college was: “ DON’T TAKE MORNING CLASSES!” Since I am not a morning person, I understood and knew to listen to this advice. However, during fall term my freshman year, I began choosing my classes and I realized that a course I was interested in started at 8:00 a.m. Initially, I was worried about the time, but now I know that choosing that morning class was one of my best decisions I’ve made!
Now when looking for classes, I look forward to the ones that are early in the morning.
Why I love taking 8:00 a.m. Classes:
I developed a liking for waking up early because it motivates me to wake up. Sometimes when I don’t have an agenda, it is easy to turn off the alarm and go back to sleep. However, when I have a class, I give myself a responsibility, which gives me the energy to rise from bed.

Another reason why I like waking up early is that it allows me to begin my day productively. The things we do right after we get up are important because they set the tone for the rest of our day. When I get up in the morning and take a class, it gives me a sense of accomplishment. This feeling encourages me to begin things on my to-do list and fight off procrastination.
Before I started waking up early, I would always feel like time was running faster than me. If you are also someone who wonders how time went by so fast, one solution is to start your day early. Doing this enables me to have more flexibility because I have more time in my day.
