What’s Here for Me?
Lita explores how Carleton is there for her in many different ways: theatre performances in the Arb and St. Paul, horse-riding at the local farm, brunch meet-up with cute doggo at Dacie Moses, and more!

In week 4 I learned how to take one thing at a time, as a lesson I learned from the past three weeks of running around and being swept away in the current that is Carleton.
This week I explored the many activities I can do on campus and off-campus with Carleton.
Rhemi, our amazing Associate Dean of Admissions, reminded me that it is good to be on top of work, nevertheless, we should take more advantage of all sorts of things available around us.
It allowed me to not fret too much about my academics and actually look on the bright side to appreciate all the cool activities that play big parts in my growth as a person here!
This week is a mesh of a lot of different aspects of Carleton:
- I took part in the live walking theatre show, Nature, that took place in Carleton’s (880 acres) back”Arb“. Nature reflects on the relationship between men and nature as well It was crazy to think that as a Carl, I can attend this production in my own backyard for free!
- I went to St. Paul, to the Penumbra theatre and watched Pipeline, a play that tackles many social aspects such as family dynamics, youth incarceration ,and education for the black community.
- I had an amazing outdoor horse riding lesson with Carleton’s Equestrian Club. We did loads of productive training, with the beautiful sunset and shades of autumn leaves as our backdrop.
- I also met with Carleton Student Association (CSA) — as I am a part of it now — and learned more about the student senate efforts to make Carleton a comfortable and, stimulating place for everyone! Look forward to their posts and updates!
- I had photoshoots, tea time, brunch meetups, pet dogs, and just simply learned and enjoyed my surroundings.
It is important to remember that our time at college is not (entirely, or I dare say even at all) evaluated by grades, it is evaluated by growth and progress. Getting to know your college, how you can contribute, and what you can take away from it is all a part of your growth!
By the way, it’s been a month since school started! WOW.
Until next time!
