This post is dedicated to snow

Snow can be fun. I can make anything from snow. I can make a snowman or a snow woman or a snow dog. I can even make a snow snail or a snow slug.  I didn’t even have to make these guys. Nature just randomly decided to shape snow like a snail and a slug and put them right next to each other.

Snow can be mean. Throughout my walk, I came across snows with various characteristics and personalities. Many of them were tiny specks, assembled to slip several unlucky Carls (including me) to start off their week. Fortunately, not all of them were cold-hearted. There were also innocent little specks of snow huddled into balls of pure happiness.

Snow can be a burden. Walking in the snow is fun. However, walking to my Biology exam in the snow was not.

Snow can feel lonely. That’s why they trap fallen leaves and keep them company for a couple of long winter nights. It seems that this leaf is also glad to have some company.

Snow can change the scenery. This is Burton, the dorm that I live in. I’ve been walking this road every day since fall term, but seeing Burton covered in snow feels like I’m in an entirely different world.

Snow can bring joy. Joy as in my calculus class got cancelled! To end this post, I would like to thank the leaf, snow snail, snow slug, the person I walked by when I was headed to my Biology exam, and each speck of snow that made this post possible.

I hope you all have a great weekend,
An

An is a freshman from Japan who is thankful that Minneapolis has a direct flight from Tokyo. She loves animals, both stuffed and alive, and one of the hardest parts of packing for college for her was choosing which plushie to bring to Carleton or, sadly, leave at home. She is currently undecided about her major and is excited to explore new subjects.
