Ode to Oatmeal

Hello world,

Can we just agree that breakfast is the best meal?

I got sick this weekend and I feel like my face is falling off; I’ve missed a couple dance classes and I almost vomited after sparring, but the thought of eating oatmeal tomorrow in the dining hall soothes my entire being.

Breakfast is such an amazing way to energize and kick off the day, even if your whole week has been exhausting. If you’ve ever wondered about your breakfast options on campus, here’s a glimpse of what I usually eat:

Oatmeal

Iced coffee with cinnamon and oatmeal with brown sugar, raisins, banana, and cinnamon from Sayles.

Eggs

Made-to-order eggs (over easy) from Burton. Bless the hearts of the chefs who make us eggs every other weekday in the dining halls.

Burton Breakfast

Grapes and oatmeal with cinnamon, nutmeg, peanut butter, unsweetened soy milk, banana, and raisins from Burton.

Americano

Americano from Five Watts Coffee that I am drinking currently.

The texture of the oatmeal at Carleton is a bit different than oatmeal I’ve had elsewhere. I used to dislike it, but it’s grown a lot on me. Definitely my number one comfort food on campus or, honestly, anywhere. I wish the dining halls or Sayles had it 24/7, so I could eat it at 2am as I work on comps

On that note, I leave you with Gurr’s Ode to Oatmeal. Stay warm, healthy, and energized (and don’t get sick like I did)!

xoxo,
Eve

Hello hello! I’m Eve, a 20 y.o. Anthropology major and hybrid image maker. On campus, you can find me hauling around weird photo props in the Weitz, pretending to study in Sayles, lounging on 2nd Cassat, or boxing at the Rec. If you see me, don’t be shy… come over and say hi! Meet the other bloggers!
