Midterm Break!

Eve describes her three-day weekend packed with international student organization events.

Hi all,

This weekend was a busy one. On Saturday, ASIA (Asian Students In America) Club cooked for International Festival. We made bubble waffles from Hong Kong — slightly sweet, very fluffy waffles with a shape similar to that of bubbles (see below). We were able to buy a bubble waffle maker using the OIIL (Office of International and Intercultural Life) budget. We had some different toppings — chocolate and caramel syrup, whipped cream, banana, and strawberry.

At the festival, student groups also performed. Among them was Karl-Pop, which danced to La Vie En Rose and Mic Drop. They’ve been practicing since fall term and delivered a great performance. Saturday was a big day for music and festivities — that night, I DJed at Cave Prom and played some of my favorite 2000s hits and PC music.

On Sunday, MOSAIC (Mosaic of South Asian Interests at Carleton) hosted South Asia Night for the first time in the Weitz. There was a large turnout and catering from the Cities!

Midterm break (Monday) was relaxed, and I went to the Hideaway to do some work and drink good coffee. There are a few deadlines coming up…

That’s all for now,

Eve

To the (initial) dismay of her parents, Eve is an aspiring fashion creative seeking to break the starving artist stereotype. When she isn’t drinking coffee at Sayles, the Minnesotan gal can be found wandering the Weitz, browsing memes at the Libe, or reinventing old recipes at Dacie Moses. On campus, she is involved in Firebellies, Karl-Pop, CSA, and Carleton Art Society, among other cool student organizations. Meet the other bloggers!
