Say Hello to Our 2023 Fellows!

Hello everybody! It is my honor to introduce our 2023 Summer Admission Fellows.

Our six amazing fellows will spend the summer in Northfield writing blog posts, leading tours, interviewing prospective students, and working on tasks for the Admission’s office. Read more about us and follow along for more blog posts about Carleton life!

Who are the 2023 Admission Fellows?

Aleia Johnson ’24

Aleia Johnson '24

Aleia (she/her/hers) is a Political Science/International Relations Major and an Educational Studies Minor. Around campus you’ll find Aleia competing on the varsity swim & dive team, dancing in Synchrony II, and crafting (Aleia also up-cycles clothes!). Her favorite spot on campus is the Gould Library (aka “the Libe”) – be sure to ask her which floor is her favorite!

Jack Allen ’24

Jack Allen '24

Jack (he/him/his) is a Geology Major and a Math Minor. One of Jack’s primary extracurricular activities is as a mentor and event volunteer for Project Friendship. Project Friendship is a community partnership which matches local elementary and middle school students with mentors (like Jack) at Carleton and St. Olaf colleges. You can also find Jack spending time at the Oak Grove in the Lower Arb, working on his social dance skills, and serving as the treasurer for the Academic Quiz Team!

Juanita Silva ’24

Juanita (she/her/hers) is a Psychology Major and Spanish Minor. A fun fact about Juanita is that she can tell when it’s going to rain because her elbow will hurt! Beyond this real world superpower, Juanita is a member of the Latin American Student Associate (LASO) and is a Resident Assistant (RA) during the school year. You can find her walking in the arboretum in Fall or Spring, or relating to the energy of the mini bald spot, which, just like her, has so much happening all the time!

Quinn Lee-O’Halloran ’25

Quinn (she/her/hers) is an American Studies Major and Chinese Minor. Quinn has deep love of the Carleton community; she says she is so lucky to be surrounded by such brilliant and kind people. Quinn is an active member of student-run radio station KRLX, the orchestra, equestrian club, and the music department! Following her love of music and radio, her favorite place on campus is the record library. And finally, a fun fact about Quinn is that her family helped to found the Minneapolis St. Patrick’s Day Parade!

Stella Denehy ’24

Stella (she/her/hers) is a Political Science Major with Minors in Spanish, Neuroscience, and Public Policy. Stella does a lot of things on campus, many of which involve the admissions office! She serves as a tour guide, works as an athletics fellow, and runs the Carleton College TikTok (drop a follow). She dabbles in the student activities office to help plan events, in addition to being employed at The Ole Store, a restaurant in town. She also plays on Carleton’s varsity volleyball team.

Margie Clauss ’24

Margie (she/they) is a Linguistics Major and a Medieval and Renaissance Studies Minor. If Margie were a place at Carleton, they would be Sayles, Carleton’s bustling student center! Margie is a varsity Basketball player, is a DJ for KRLX, Carleton’s student-run radio station, and she just returned from her Off Campus Study in Kyoto, Japan. In their free time, Margie works at a food truck!
