For spring break this year, I traveled with the baseball team to Tucson, Arizona to play in a bunch of non-conference games. These games were against other colleges around the country: CalTech and Wesleyan, for example. We played 12 games in 8 days, so yes we were really tired, but it was one of the most fun weeks I’ve had in a long time. Here are some highlights from the trip!
Our First Win
On the second day of games, we beat Carthage College in a nail-biter game. It was our first win of the season, and many of our players contributed to the game. Getting my first collegiate win was a super cool moment.
Team Bonding
Outside of our many games, because we didn’t have class obligations, I hung out with my teammates a ton. On the one off-day we had, we went team mini-golfing which was a ton of fun. Afterward, our team had dinner at a ranch where we saw wild boars walking towards our big group.
When we weren’t playing, we were hanging out, watching movies, walking around town, getting food, or, admittedly, playing Pokemon Go. On our last day, we got to stop by Arizona State’s baseball stadium and watch batting practice which was also really fun.
Playing games
Our games were definitely the highlights of the trip. We brought a couple of digital cameras for the trip, so when I wasn’t playing, I was taking pictures! It also makes it helpful for the blog.
Ryan (he/him) is a freshman from Alameda, CA. He is currently undecided on a major but enjoys stem classes. He plays on the varsity baseball team and is an avid fan of the Los Angeles Dodgers. Ryan loves spending his free time playing video games, listening to music, or spending time with his friends in the dining halls.
