This MLK day, Eve explores town with her mom and sister!

Hello world,

This week, my mom and sister observed Martin Luther King, Jr. Day with me! Although Carleton doesn’t have the day off, I don’t have class on Mondays this term. I was incredibly grateful that they took the time to drive down here – 2 hours round trip, probably more with the snow – and see me!

We spent the morning doing homework in Brick Oven Bakery. We talked about current events while driving around, and made a trip to Target and the Co-op so I could stock up on some snacks and groceries.

I got a couple of Arkansas Black Apples – I’ve never seen these before! And, for dinner, my mom took us out to the Ole Store.

The last time I had a steak in Northfield was probably two winters ago, also at the Ole Store, as a pre-Midwinter Ball outing 🙂 We had to take the shuttle to St. Olaf, then get off and walk to the restaurant.

And, in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. and his contemporaries, I leave you with a quote that is keeping me going this week:

“If you can’t fly then run, if you can’t run then walk, if you can’t walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward.”

Stay warm!

Eve

Hello hello! I’m Eve, a 20 y.o. Anthropology major and hybrid image maker. On campus, you can find me hauling around weird photo props in the Weitz, pretending to study in Sayles, lounging on 2nd Cassat, or boxing at the Rec. If you see me, don’t be shy… come over and say hi! Meet the other bloggers!
