Flexibility, Food Babies, and Flourishing

Jelilat is ready to tackle the challenges of the last week before finals start on Monday.

Hello loyal reader, it is week 10. *dun, dun, dun*. Just kidding, it’s not that deep. Week 10 means finals, but finals don’t necessarily mean stress and bald-spots from coping mechanisms…usually.

On a lighter note, the past week has been eventful. A few highlights include registering for my Spring courses, submitting some internship applications *whoop, whoop*, and many, many meetings.

The events of this week re-emphasized the importance of flexibility and resilience. Everything did not go as planned, but I firmly believe things went as needed. In no time, Friday had finally graced us with her presence and the sun shone as I strolled around campus (granted, I may have a head cold from going without a hood – for fashion purposes of course). In the evening, I walked down to Chapati, an Indian cuisine restaurant in downtown Northfield. To say the least and do the absolute most, I left with a well-fed food baby and soothed appetite. To top my exploration of zesty and flavorful foods, on Saturday, I cooked and dined on Moroccan cuisine with my peers from Arabic and our Language Assistant from Morocco.

Then, I stayed in for the remainder of the weekend, restoring my energy to tackle the upcoming week. This will be my last blog until spring term.

To my loyal and occasional readers out there, I bid you adieu.

As a selectively-proud Houstonian, Jelilat is undecided in her major, and could be more concerned about her life after college. Meh. She’ll get there. She enjoys thriller novels, compulsive online shopping, and skipping the “It” movie advertisements when they come on. Jelilat also enjoys taking #OutfitofTheDay pics, spending time with people with very loud laughs, and learning more about her fellow peers’ experiences, interests, and perspectives.
