Back On Campus With (More) Snow

As much as I enjoyed taking a break from classwork and spending time with family over the past 6 weeks, I must admit that I missed Carleton. It also feels great to be back on campus in the snow!

To get back to Carleton, I drove all the way from Michigan through the snow and Midwest winter beauty. When I first arrived I had to unpack and re-move into my Goodhue dorm, since everyone was required to pack up their belongs before leaving as a precaution. In the midst of unpacking and in the spirit of the new trimester my roommate and I did some re-decorating!

I’m really excited about winter weather.

Although it will be my first time experiencing the oh-so dreaded Minnesota winter, I’m fully prepared to embrace and enjoy it this term. There are so many ways to have fun outside even when it is cold and snowy out.

For one, there are already TWO ICE RINKS set up on the Bald Spot! Yep, that’s right. There’s not one but two full-sized ice rinks and skates sitting on the Bald Spot ready for anyone to use.

Another great physically-distanced activity I’m excited to try this term is Nordic Skiing. Carleton has a Nordic Skiing Club which trains and competes in the Arb. I don’t have much experience with Cross-Country or Nordic Skiing but it seems super easy to rent gear and learn with other beginners!

And if neither of these activities are up your alley, there are plenty of other student organizations that help students to get outside and enjoy the outdoors (even in the winter).

I’m so excited to be back on campus this term taking classes that I love while experiencing the wonderful Minnesota winter weather!
