Alvin gives an update on his plans for studying abroad.

It’s been a hectic term for me with my course load, soccer season, and complications figuring out my plans for+ studying abroad. With fall term drawing to a close, having several weeks to rest will be much needed and I’m extremely looking forward to it. As this will be my last blog post before the start of next term, I thought I’d give an update on what 2020 has in store for me.

Although I had to pull out of studying abroad in Hong Kong at the last minute, I was actually able to switch into another program, and I will study at the National University of Singapore during their spring semester! Carleton’s Off-Campus Studies office has been incredibly helpful throughout this whole process, and I’m really looking forward to Singapore. For those who don’t know, Carleton has an exchange program with the National University of Singapore (NUS), and roughly a couple of Carleton students go each year or so. I’ve never been to Singapore before, so I’m really excited to explore the region, experience local culture, and meet lots of new people. Furthermore, NUS is a very prestigious university, and I’m looking forward to choosing classes from a wide variety of courses and learning under distinguished faculty.

This is my last blog of the term, but I hope to keep you all updated with my life as a Carleton exchange student in Singapore next semester!

See you in 2020,

Alvin
