Spring Term is (unfortunately) starting to pick up as midterms start being assigned and turned in, yet this midterm period seems a lot better than fall and winter terms. Probably because the sun is out and reminds us all of summer. Nonetheless, it is heartbreaking to realize that while Carleton is barely halfway through our spring term while other colleges that are on semester schedule are currently reviewing for their final exams that begin the first week of May. While the rest of spring term is probably going to move by extremely slow, these are a couple big things left to look forward to:

  • Mid-Term Break

  • Cinco de Mayo (Mexico’s triumphant battle against the French at the Battle of Puebla)

  • Spring Concert

  • Room-Draw (depending on your room draw number)

  • The end of spring term

Not to mention small, spontaneous things like:

  • Walks in the Arb

  • Trips to the Japanese Garden

  • Bouldering at the Rec

  • Trips into town for a cupcake

  • Finding a friend who has a hammock and reading outside

Let’s make it a good end to spring term and finish strong.

“How cold does it actually get in Minnesota?” is the phrase that first-year, Minnesota-born Yadari is already tired of explaining. Besides speaking about the weather, Yadari enjoys working out and doing anything of which shouldn’t be left for tomorrow, today. And of course, long walks on any of the 10,000 lakes here in Minnesota, if and only if they are not frozen solid or a safety hazard. Read on to meet the rest of our bloggers.
