If you know the URL of a document you want to open, you can open it in two ways:
For example, to open the Cisco Systems home page at www.cisco.com:
The Open URL dialog appears.
To open WWW documents on WWW servers, you need to have access to the Internet or a local WWW server. If your access to the Internet is restricted by a firewall router that includes a proxy server, then you need to set up Enhanced Mosaic to also use the proxy server (ask your network administrator). Refer to "Using Proxy Servers" on page 291 for information on configuring Enhanced Mosaic for use with proxy servers.
Graphic images are typically large files that slow the process of loading documents. Enhanced Mosaic allows you to disable automatically loading images until you request them. This dramatically improves the performance of Enhanced Mosaic. To disable automatic loading of images, refer to "Improving Performance" on page 294.
To stop Enhanced Mosaic from loading a document, click the Stop toolbar button. This button is available only while Enhanced Mosaic is loading documents. To reload a document, click the Reload toolbar button or choose Reload from the Navigate menu.
Enhanced Mosaic lets you open local files even if you are not connected to a host. You can open a local file in two ways:
For example, to open Enhanced Mosaic home page at INITIAL.HTM:
The Open Local dialog box appears.
To follow links to other documents, click the highlighted text or graphics describing the document you want. The document automatically loads.
After you view a few documents, you can easily move between the documents using the Forward and Back buttons on the Navigation bar, or with the Forward and Back commands from the Navigate menu. You will notice that the Forward button is grayed until you select the Back button.
