Disruptive Forces in Education

disruptive innovators

A closer look at individuals and organizations that are changing education.
Clayton Christensen coined the term “disruptive innovation” in 1997 in his book The Innovator’s Solution.  Disruptive innovations fundamentally change the existing status-quo.  “A disruptive innovation extends its benefits to people who, for one reason or another, are unable to consume the original product.”  Currently, our public education system is not getting the job done.  What should we do?  "We need to allow innovators to form the type of team equal to the challenge of reshaping the educational architecture," says Christensen.
