SELF-REFLECTION PIECES/
PROFESSIONAL SUMMARY

After saying goodbye to my students from New Spirit, I feel very enthusiastic about embarking on my teaching career.  Student teaching was the most challenging and rewarding experience of all of my professional endeavors.  I am continually amazed by how much I influenced my students’ learning, moral sensibilities, and motivation in three short months.  I have gained tremendous respect for this profession, and I feel more determined than ever to reach my potential as a teacher.

My dedication to reflection and self-improvement is one of my strengths as a teacher.  During student teaching, I successfully altered my teaching methods and approaches to suit the changing needs of my students.  My determination to succeed as a teacher was constantly recharged by my desire to meet all of my students’ varied educational needs.

I deeply appreciate the cycle of motivation that fuels all classrooms.  In my opinion, the best reward of teaching is watching my students’ inspiration grow as my lesson unfolds.  I love how these successes in the classroom inspire me to go home and plan subsequent lessons that will continue to motivate and engage my students.

I am a genuine person who cares about my relationships with students.  Consequently, I work hard to think of ways to make learning authentic, engaging, and meaningful for my students.  I have witnessed how my educational approach has benefited my students’ academic development, and I am excited to improve my methods in future teaching pursuits.
