The Physics and Astronomy Department weekly seminar will be held on Fridays from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in Olin 02. We all hope you take advantage of this "enrichment" opportunity and find out what all of us, students included, have been up to research wise. Beside the intellectual benefits for attending, you will also be treated to great refreshments and if you have any particular request, just contact Bill Titus.
The first seminar of the term will be on Friday, September 14 and will be given by Doug Foxgrover and his students on the Carleton Weather Project.
So come and get the
"Weather Report", and meet new and old colleagues.

Physics 223 Announcement: Currently no students are enrolled in our one credit Research Seminar, Physics 223. This course is designed to accomplish two aims. The first is to expose students to a variety of undergraduate research experiences at Carleton and elsewhere. The second is to help students develop effective oral presentation skills, something that would certainty be useful in your courses and in your senior comps presentations. The class is scheduled to meet Wednesdays from 3:10 to 4:20 in the afternoon in Olin 02. If you are interested in taking this course or in finding out more about it, contact Bill Titus (x4386 or btitus@carleton.edu) as soon as possible.
