1. Science and Ethics: A new pledge of ethical responsibility for scientists has just been developed by a group called International Network of Engineers and Scientists for Global Responsibility (INES). If you are interested in looking over a copy, contact Joel. There's no obligation.
2. Second Olin Hall Phone: In response to your requests, we have asked telecommunications to enable outside callers to dial this phone (x6327). The change should be implemented soon.
3. Tutoring: There's a strong demand for Physics 122 graduates to serve as individual tutors for current P122 students. Anyone interested should contact Tutoring Coordinator Mariah Wilkins at Scoville 202, ext. 4015.
4. Physics Camping Trip: For all majors and prospective majors. Yes, you. Now is your chance to do some real physics department bonding WITHOUT the help of problem sets. The trip is tentatively scheduled for the morning of Saturday, October 7 to Sunday, October 8 in the early evening. It's Mid-Term Break, so you'll have Monday off to catch up on work. The location has not yet been selected and suggestions are certainly welcome. We will try to get as much financial assistance from the college as humanly possible. Space may be limited depending on transportation options, so respond quickly to express your interest. No firm commitment is necessary at this time, but we need to know how many people would like to go so we can get enough car / van space. Hope you can make it!
