Summer REU Opportunities:
Oak Ridge Science Semester Program: Spend next fall participating in research at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory. The Oak Ridge Science Semester program (for juniors and seniors) involves students in a wide range of on-going basic and applied research projects at the lab. You pay tuition to participate, but in return you receive a generous stipend ($6800 this fall, not yet fixed for next year). What a deal! This is a great chance to spend some time off campus, to engage in concentrated research, and to learn more about your talents and interests. Application deadline is early February. If youčre at all interested, contact Bruce Thomas (email: bthomas) for more details.

Thanks to Paul Kutter, Claire Pettersen and Aaron Dotter for a wonderful fall picnic!
