FALL SEMINAR SERIES: Don't miss this week's talks on student summer research. Peter Czoschke talks about getting high in a Carleton physics lab: "Working (hopefully) in UHV" and Karen Griffith goes solar with "Quest for Zeeman in the Infrared." (The refreshments will be great, too.)

* Summer Internship Announcement: 1997 Summer Student Program at the Department of Astronomy and Space Sciences at Cornell University. Deadline February 12, 1997 (See bulletin board near the Lounge in Mudd)


* Funnest job on campus: Joel and Cindy are looking for someone to shovel snow off the 16" dome to keep it from freezing up for the whole winter. Be the envy of your classmates. Good views! High pay! Contact Cindy or Joel if you are interested.


* Summer research opportunity for undergraduates: NASA Space Exploration and the Planetary Geology and Geophysics Program. Deadline January 31, 1997. See poster (both front and back) in the usual place.
