FYI

NTFUP Site Visit The National Task Force on Undergraduate Physics (a jointly sponsored project of the American Physical Society, the American Association of Physics Teachers, and the American Institute of Physics with support from the Exxon-Mobil Foundation) is conducting a series of site visits to successful undergraduate programs to try to develop a sense of the key elements of such a program. A team consisting of Jack Hehn (AIP), Conley Stutz (Bradley Univ.), and Dean Zollman (Kansas State) will be visiting Carleton on Monday. Say hi to them if you see them wandering around!

Welcome to new physics major Kelen Tuttle, who's doubling up with English.

Sophomore and Junior Majors: You will be receiving summer plans surveys from the department on Tuesday. Completed surveys are due in the dept office by Friday, May 17. Please turn them in or email promptly to avoid pesky email reminders.

Freshmen, please return the department work information sheets by Thursday, May 16 if you are interested in working in the Physics Department next school year. If you did not receive the information, please stop by the office and get a form from Ann.

Student Employees: There are lots of blank timesheets in the student work binder. We’re running out of time before the end of the year, so please stop by to get yourself up to date. We want to pay you for the work you have done, so do it today!
