COMMENTS:

1. We still need graders for Physics 120. Stimulating, interesting, lucrative. Contact Bruce Thomas (x4389, BThomas).

2. Think Physics! Last spring Deborah Salon '94 started a physics discussion group that met once a week to talk about a topic chosen by one of the group members. I would like to do the same thing again this spring and I want to get an idea of how many people are interested. It would be a 1-credit S/Cr/NC class, advised by Rich Noer; time and place to be determined. Last spring someone put a short reading on reserve to be discussed each week, covering topics like women in science, career possibilities, philosophy of science, and others. Please contact Susan Thysell (thysells) or Rich Noer (rnoer) if you are interested.

3. Summer Internship Opportunities: The University of Colorado has an REU program in a wide variety of areas of physics. Application deadline is April 5. Emory University in Atlanta offers a fellowship in computational chemistry and physics (March 31).

4. Planetarium internship for seniors: The Adler Planetarium in Chicago has an opening for a graduating senior with a strong background in astronomy and an interest in the museum or planetarium profession. See the 2nd floor bulletin board or the notice in the Careers folder on vengeance.

5. A summer course in solar and stellar astronomy and astrophysics is being offered at Mt. Wilson, August 9-22. This course, not an internship: the cost is $1175. Applications are due April 15. See the bulletin board or Steve for info.
