- Congratulations are in order! Many of
you attended the Honors Convocation last Friday. In case you
missed it, here are the faculty/students/alum from our department
who received special honors:
- Joel Weisberg is the new Herman and
Gertrude Mosier Stark Professor of the Natural
Sciences.
- Dan Miller and Tim O'Connell were
elected to Phi Beta Kappa.
- A number of seniors were elected to
Sigma Xi: Ghidewon Arefe, Russ Bainer, Bryan Donald, John Graner,
Brian Knight, James Lloyd, Dan Miller, Tim O'Connell, Nate Pogue,
Susa Stone, and Matthew Strait.
- Dan Miller shared the Laurence McKinley
Gould Prize in Natural Sciences.
- Ted Holby received a Jarchow
Scholarship.
- Andrew Fink has received a Linguistics
Society of America Summer Institute Fellowship.
- Liz McDowell ('02) was awarded a
National Science Foundation Graduate Fellowship.
- Congratulations to all of you.

Table, Friday, 12:00-1:00 p.m., LDC
113 (Fireplace Room). Join the Department staff for lunch for the
final Physics Table of the year. We can meet on 3rd Olin at 11:55 for
the short walk to the dinning hall or you can join us
there.
FYI
Seniors: If you have not
returned your senior questionnaire yet, be prepared for pathetic
begging emails from Ann.
Seniors: Please respond by the
end of the week to the invites to joint the department for the Annual
Senior Lunch, and if you plan to join us in the senior canoe trip
down the Cannon. Check you email for details.
Student Employees: There are
lots of blank timesheets in the student work binder. We're running
out of time before the end of the year, so please stop by and get
yourself up-to-date. We want to pay you for the work you have done.
Blank timesheet will be recycled into confetti at the end of the
school year.
