Meet the Candidate
You are invited to meet our candidate for the DepartmentÕs
Experimental Physicist position.
Dr. Jeffrey Clayhold is currently an Assistant Professor of Physics at
Clemson University. His
experimental interests span oxide magnetic nanoclusters, quantum computing, and
measurement of the electrical charge in magnetic vortices in superconductors. His Ph.D. in physics is from Princeton
and his undergraduate degree is from Caltech. He also did postdoctoral research work in solid-state
physics at ETH in Zurich, Switzerland, and served as a Research Assistant
Professor at the Texas Center for Superconductivity.
Thursday, January 8 Noon Olin
04
Meet Jeffrey for his classroom talk, ÒQuantum ComputingÓ.
Friday, January 9 Noon Room
117 LDC
Student-only lunch with Jeff.
Friday, January 9 3:30-4:30 Olin
02
Research Talk, ÒMeasuring the Superconducting Vortex Charge.Ó
Student-only reception in the Second Olin Lounge after the talk.
Come and share some interesting conversation with Jeff and enjoy some
delicious refreshments.
Sign-up sheets for the classroom talk, student-only lunch, and
research talk will available in classrooms and in AnnÕs office.
