- PHYSICS 123 LECTURE: This week's lecture is by Jane Olson, a 1992 graduate of the Carleton physics program. For the past two years she has been employed in atmospheric science research at the federally funded Aeronomy Laboratory in Boulder, Colorado. Most of her work takes place at a mountain observatory near the Continental Divide in Colorado where optical techniques are used to study the concentrations of different molecules of interest in the lower atmosphere. The paper Ms. Olson has suggested for background reading is available on reserve in the Science Library. All are invited to these talks.

COMMENTS:
1. Women, Gender, Science: What do research on the history of
women and science and research on science and gender have to do with each
other? These are the topics of a conference at the St. Paul Campus of the
University of Minnesota on Friday, May 12-Sunday, May 14. See Joel for a look at the program.
