Righteous, Immaculate Heavenly Bodies
M57: Ring Nebula
Wie ein blaues Auge im Himmel, so existiert diese wuenderschoene
Nebula. A fine textbook example of a planetary nebula, a cloud from an
exploding star surrounding the remnant white dwarf
M13: Globular Cluster
Globular Clusters aren't the most photogenic when taken in color.
This is M13 which is on the side of Hercules.
M1: Crab Nebula
It was a hazy night with the dew cap on. Even at long exposure times
(which this picture is composed of), the nebula still looked like the
hazy blob that you see which we also saw at short exposure times. The
nebula is the remnant of a supernova that went off early this millenium
and was purportedly seen and recorded by the Chinese. They were very
observant people and achieved greatness by inventing playing cards and
gunpowder.
