"Yes" if a section fulfills the writing distribution overlay requirement. "No" otherwise. The writing requirement is two-part. The first part is fulfilled by the Argument and Inquiry freshman seminar. The second must be fulfilled by another course marked as MD_Sect_IsWritingRequirement2 = Yes. A writing portfolio is also required, beyond these classes.

This attribute does double duty for both the new and old (pre-2010) requirement system. It existed in both places, that is, although in the 2010 and later system, it has three parts (ANI, portfolio, and a writing course).

The 2010 and later system also has a WR2 (Writing Requirement 2) requirement, in addition to this one.

Integrative Exercise is what's commonly known as "Comps" at Carleton—a senior paper/project (or, in some cases, alternatively, a major examination). The value of this attribute will be "Yes" if a given section is a comps section; otherwise, "No".

This section type exists in both old (pre-2010) and new curriculums.

 

MD_Sect_IsLanguageProficiency

"Yes" if a section counts towards fulfillment of the language requirement (non-English). "No" otherwise.

This distribution requirement exists in both old (pre-2010) and new (2010 and later) systems.

The default here is an empty string.
