Women's Hockey at Carleton (WHAC) provides the opportunity for players of all skill levels to participate competitively in the great game of hockey. The season, which includes approximately twenty games and practices twice weekly, runs from mid-October through February.  WHAC is a member of the C1 division of the Women's Hockey Association and all games are played in Northfield or at various locations in the Metro area.

2000-2001 season:  At the end of regular season play, WHAC finished in the top four teams in the WHAM C2 division, earning themselves a berth in the post                                         season tournament.  At this tournament WHAC finished 3-1, good enough for first place in the C2 division.

2001-2002 season:  After a strong finish in the 2000-2001 season WHAC decided to play in the more competitive C1 division.

WHAC originated in 1996 when a woman player on the men's team decided it was time for a women's team to be started.

During the 1996-1997 season WHAC posted a 0-13 record, with the closest losses coming against archrivals St. Thomas/St. Catherine, and cross-town rival St. Olaf. Captains Deb Cussen '98 and Kate Trafton '99 led scoring with 4 and 3 goals, respectively, and goalies Melanie Dorson '98 and Hannah Koenker '00 gained experience, finishing with a .662% and .702% save average, respectively. As the team is overflowing with young talent, WHAC is poised to be very competitive in the seasons to follow.
