This page is designed to give a brief overview of the history of the young, talented directer Kevin Smith. Bursting onto the scene basically out of nowhere in 1994 with the smash hit Clerks. Smith then followed up this film with the not so successful, but more mainstream, film Mallrats in 1995. Then in 1997, Smith rebounded with the smash hit Chasing Amy.
