Fridays are cleanup day
1. If you borrow something, return it.
2. If you make a mess, clean it..
3. If you are close to using the last of a supply, order more.
4. Label all solutions with date, your initials, and name of solution (and sometimes the concentrations of ingredients).
5. Toss all solutions when you have finished your project, if no one else wants them.
6. Wipe down the hoods after using.
7. Cover microscopes when not in use.
8. Keep bacteria out of the laminar flow hood.
9. Call Alison if you break a thermometer. Don't clean it up yourself.
10. Don't use supplies labeled "RNase-free."
11. Don't return anything to sterile cabinet or shelves, unless never opened.
12. If using chemicals that are harmful to inhale or touch, use in the chemical hood.
13. Clean water baths
… wipe out with 70% ethanol
… change water (type II)
14. pH meter servicing:
… fill electrode with KCl-saturated solution
… change storage and standard buffers
15. Wash pipettes, dry and put pipettes away.
16. Take broken glass to dumpster in sealed box. Replace box.
17. Autoclave biohazardous waste, and then put in dumpster.
18. Vacuum pre-Hepa filters in laminar flow hood
19. Everyday clean up
… wipe down benchtops
… clean microwave inside and out
… wipe down fume and sterigard hoods
… wipe down laminar flow hood after each use
20. Keep soil off metal cart
21. Keep metal cart clear.
22. Go to tea everyday
