• Origins and Mind theme
• Courses - Introductory Biology: Diversity, Form and Function, Introductory Psychology, Introductory Philosophy: Evolution and Minds (Table 1)
• Integrated laboratory and lecture experience in biology (two 3 hour blocks weekly) and psychology
• Meeting College writing requirement in a multidisciplinary way
• Common meeting time where faculty in all three courses and student meet (Table 2)
• Even distribution of workload in all three courses over the term, never scheduled two exams or major assignments for the same day
• Assessment of a prototype for first-term student learning
