Kelly Conlin appointed to Carleton College Board of Trustees

Northfield, Minn—The Carleton College Board of Trustees recently announced the appointment of Kelly P. Conlin, a 1982 Carleton graduate. The Cambridge, Mass., resident is CEO and president of International Data Group (IDG), a technology media company.

"I feel fortunate to have benefited from Carleton's high educational standards and extraordinarily committed faculty. I am honored to join this impressive board and hope that I can reciprocate the contributions that Carleton so clearly made to my life," Conlin said.

Conlin earned his B.A in political science from Carleton in 1982 and his M.B.A. from Harvard University in 1987. Before joining IDG in 1989, he worked at CNN as chief assignment editor of the New York Bureau and at The New York Times as a business reporter and strategic planning manager for the company’s magazine division. He was director of business development at IDG from 1989 to 1991, when he launched and assumed leadership of IDG Marketing Services. He has been president of the company since 1995.

Ranked among the nation’s top liberal arts institutions, Carleton is a private, co-educational college, located 40 miles south of the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul. High academic standards, an excellent teaching faculty and a diverse student body contribute to Carleton’s outstanding reputation.
