Help for a few things that might go wrong while using Caucus:

Expired Certificate Authority

If you get a message about an "expired certificate authority," you're using a version of Netscape downloaded before August 1996, which means that the security is out of date.

To update your browser to work with Caucus, just follow these simple instructions.

Crashing Problems

Does Netscape crash when you try to use Caucus? Try this quick fix (this won't work in the labs. If you're getting crashes there, please tell a lab assistant):
From the "Options" menu, choose "Security Preferences." Click on the tab labeled "General", and uncheck the box labeled "Enable SSL v.3"
That's all you need to do. Save the changes and try Caucus again. If you continue to have problems, contact Mark Heiman (mheiman).

Logging In Problems

If you're having problems logging in and you're sure that you're typing your password correctly, check these two things:
  • Caucus doesn't accept passwords longer than 15 characters. If your password is too long, you'll need to change it to something shorter.
  • Caucus doesn't recognize spaces in passwords. If your password contains spaces, try typing it without the spaces.
