AFL-CIO Organizing Institute (MN). Union Summer internship available for students who are not graduating this year, and who want to help workers in their fight for workplace justice. Interns may be visiting workers at home to find out what they would like to change at their jobs, and will perform other duties. $210 per week, internship is 4 weeks long. Dodge Nature Preschool (MN). Preschool education intern wanted to gain hands-on experience in a nature-based preschool by assisting in the planning and presentation of a variety of activities. $125 weekly stipend for 40 hours, academic credit may be available.

Feminist Majority Foundation (DC& CA). Full-time internships available year round in 2 month increments with this feminist think tank, developing creative long-term political strategies and permanent solutions.

Great American History Theatre (MN). Volunteer ushers needed to help seat the patrons, enjoy the show, and help clean up. Call Emily at (651) 292-4323 ext. 102.

InterStudy Publications (MN). Summer internship available with leading researcher and publisher of data. Duties include assisting with direct marketing, compiling press lists for public relations department, database maintenance, and other tasks. Applicant must be a junior or senior in college and have computer skills. 35-40 hours per week, $10 per hour. Email cover letters and resumes to mschmidt@interstudypublications.com by May 29, 2002.

MN Secretary of State (MN). Mary Kiffmeyer's office has student worker clerical positions available for the summer. $10.63 per hour, 40 hours per week, beginning as soon as possible. Send a cover letter with dates of availability and resume to heidi.1.hartwig@state.mn.us.

Northfield Downtown Development Corporation. One summer intern needed to research City of Northfield past, present, and future plans. Student will gain valuable small town urban planning experience. Excellent writing and research skills a must. $8.50 per hour, part-time for 10 weeks. To apply, send letter and resume, 1-2 page writing sample, and 2 faculty references to bsmith@carleton.edu. Deadline is May 29.

People's Memorial Association (WA). Summer internship available working with elderly, end-of-life consumer protection issues and office management issues. Duties include answering phones and stuffing envelopes as well as taking on projects to further program development. Pay is $9/hour, 40 hours per week from mid-June until mid-August.

Internships at Youth Frontiers!!
Youth Frontiers, Inc. is a Minneapolis-based nonprofit dedicated to improving the climate of K-12 schools. Development Intern: Interns will assist with planning, organizing and implementing fundraising events, manage donor relations, and perform other duties. Intern must have strong writing and communications skills, and must be proficient in using a Mac platform. FileMaker experience preferred but not necessary. Must be willing to commit at last 15 hours per week to the position. Interested Parties should send their resume to Kirsten King.
Marketing Intern: Creative thinkers wanted for position in the marketing department. Intern will assist marketing personnel with creating and coordinating marketing and PR pieces including newsletters, brochures and letters. Intern will also help with the internal database and corporate web site. Qualifications include strong communications skills, proficiency in using Microsoft Word, and familiarity with FileMaker Pro. Must be willing to commit at least 10 hours per week to the position. Interested students should send a resume to Carol Hagberg.
