River Bend Nature Center (Faribault, MN). Private non-profit nature center seeks 2 Summer Program Naturalists from June 3-August 21, 2002. 40 hours, $170 per week plus housing. Responsibilities include developing and teaching programs for youth environmental day camps serving children from preschool through age 12, designing and completing an individual project, developing and teaching public weekend programs for all ages, and more. Two weeks of paid training provided. Minimum 3 years of college study, applicants must have a general familiarity with the natural environment, experience in working with children, and an ability to relate with people of all ages. Sakatah Lake, Nerstrand Big Woods (MN). Paid intern needed to assist Park Naturalists in the park interpretive program. Will conduct programs including hikes, slide programs, campfire programs, auto, bike, or canoe caravans, and will have other duties. Formal training is provided. Students must have completed their sophomore year with a major in biology, botany, forestry, MN natural and cultural history, environmental studies, or natural resources management. $8.00 per hour, 40 hours per week. Minnesota Zoo (MN). Internships available in several areas including Animal Management, Conservation Biology/Research, Education, Horticulture, Information Management, and Marketing. These are unpaid and are 10-14 weeks in length, 30-40 hours per week.

City of Cottage Grove (MN). Paid intern with Community Development Director will be responsible for assisting in the establishment, preparation, maintenance, and use of the Community Development Department GIS and Imaging Systems. Students must be working toward or have completed GIS Technician certification program, possess a valid Minnesota drivers license, and have experience using MS Office Suite applications, including Access, Word, Excel, and GIS software. $10-$12 per hour. Appalachian Outreach & Samaritan House (TN). Summer staff members needed for a poverty home-repair ministry and a homeless shelter for families and single women. 18 college students will be hired. They must be committed Christians and have interest in working with poverty level people. Pay is $85.00 per week plus housing in dorms, meals, & travel expenses. Camp Massanetta (VA). Summer staff positions available at this summer camp ministry located in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Applicants should be committed Christians at least one year out of high school. The program lasts from June 10-August 10 with a possibility of pre-season work to prepare the camp. Included is lodging for the length of employment and meals during the camp week with some weekend meals, 2 staff t-shirts, and pay incentives. Salaries dependent on position. Positions available: camp counselor, unit coordinator, or health care manager. Email programs@massanettasprings.org.
