City of New York (NY). The department of Citywide Administrative Services Summer Internship Program is now accepting applications from undergraduates and graduate students. An array of internships are available in areas such as law, social services, environmental protection, business services, information technology, transportation, and other municipal services. Coastal Education Internships (NH). Part-time or full-time position available for students interested in an office-based internship. Interns will also have the opportunity to work at various beaches and boats in the area. Responsibilities include assisting in setting up and maintaining a touch tank at a dock in downtown Portsmouth, running educational presentations and designing displays, and much more. A minimum commitment of 10 hours or 2 days per week is suggested. Interns must provide their own housing and transportation. Exceptional Needs Foundation (PA). Three internship opportunities available for juniors at a nonprofit organization. Web design interns will redesign and maintain an existing nonprofit website and assist in developing the monthly newsletter. This is an unpaid position for 5-15 hours/week. Information resource center staff interns will participate in data entry, filing, email monitoring, and other general office duties. This is an unpaid full-time position. Therapy aid for social skills playgroups: Interns will be teaching aids for small groups' social skills training. They will plan lessons, write parents reports and work on location. Gemmy Industries Corporation (TX). A Creative Copywriting Internship is now available to students who have completed their second or third year of undergraduate education. This is a 10-week, paid, writing internship for the summer of 2003. Working with the staff Copywriter, the intern will be responsible for writing text for placement on product packaging. This text must be clever, whimsical, and humorous. Other responsibilities include writing press releases, web copy, song parodies, and product script copy. Interested students should forward a resume, transcript, contact information for two references, and two writing samples to elisea@gemmy.com.

Lerner Publishing Group (MN). Students needed to fill MIS Intern position that will provide a variety of support services to enhance the daily operations of 100+ PC/MAC users. Successful candidates must have knowledge of Intel computer systems, MS Office and work with little supervision in the performance of computer installation, configuration and troubleshooting. Available immediately, the position is full-time and provides a minimum wage. Email resume to jhutchinson@lernerbooks.com by May 30.

Minnesota Hospital Association
2003 Summer Health Care Intern Program

This program brings students and health care employers together, giving students experience in a health care environment and employers the opportunity to become more involved in their community. Participating hospitals, nursing facilities, home health agencies, medical clinics and physicians employ students between Memorial Day and Labor Day for six to 12 weeks at good wages.

Possible areas of employment include radiology, laboratory, pharmacy, inpatient care, and more. Eligible students will be enrolled in a two- or four-year health care degree program, with the intention of completing the program.

In order to participate, students must call physicians or human resources departments of hospitals, medical clinics, nursing facilities, and home health agencies in the area to find out if they participate in the program. When a participating facility is located, students must complete an employment application, provide a letter of recommendation, and interview with the employer for the internship position.

An hourly wage will be determined by the organization with a range from $5.25-$12.00/hr.
