MINNESOTA STATE SENATE INTERNSHIPS!
On Campus Meeting Wednesday, October 23, 2002

Speakers: Scott Magnuson from the State Senate and Conor Crimmins '03

Congresswoman Betty McCollum (DC). Interns needed in the Washington DC office. Opportunities include working with and assisting all members of the staff, including legislative, administrative and press duties. Applicants should have excellent written and oral communication skills and a positive attitude towards multi-tasking. Internships are now available for spring term, January-May 2003 on a part-time or full-time basis. Stipends are sometimes available. Dow Jones Newspaper Fund, Inc. (NJ). Change in date for editing test prep session to Thursday, October 24 at 3:30 in the Career Center.

Gemini Inc (MN). Unique opportunity for a part-time artist to work from home. Job entails sculpting BAS relief designs from wood or wax for casting in plaques. Contact information available in Career Center.

Law Office of Douglas R. Stevens (VA). George Burton Cole Internship at Law interns have a unique experience of shadowing a Georgetown trial attorney and getting an in-depth view of the legal systems of Maryland, Washington, DC and Virginia. The program is non-pay, for credit only, and lasts for 3 weeks as a full-time commitment. This internship would be ideal for winter break. MN House of Representatives (MN). Internships open to students interested in gaining experience by working with legislators and staff to facilitate the legislative process from January-May 2003. Interns will conduct research, monitor and report on committee meetings for legislators, conducting opinion surveys, and perform various other duties. Applications and information in Career Center.

Rice County MADD Chapter (Faribault). 3-5 interns needed to attend court in Rice County and follow sentencing for felony DWI. Hours determined by number of court cases and your schedule. Begin immediately. Transportation money provided. More info in Career Center.

Time Inc. (NY). Summer editorial intern program open to undergrads between their junior and senior years. Most of the nine-week jobs are located in NYC at one of the magazines owned by Time Inc, such as Time, Fortune, People, Sports Illustrated, and Entertainment Weekly. Most interns perform the duties of reporter/researchers, however applicants for photo editing, photo lab and graphic design are also welcome. Transcript, resume, personal statement, and writing samples due to the Career Center by Friday, November 22 at noon.
